Lead Quality Control Inspector will be responsible to inspect the work of the Home Energy Solutions program contractors both during and after their visit with customers, to verify that all eligible energy efficient measures have been installed to the specifications of the Connecticut HES programs. In addition the Lead will also be responsible for training and oversight of existing Inspection Staff to ensure consistency among all inspectors is maintained.

Ideal candidates should have a background in Energy Efficiency programs with a strong understanding of building science as it relates to the weatherization of single family homes. Knowledge of specific testing procedures like Blower Door, Duct Blasting and Duct Flow a plus, Building Performance Institute certifications are required but will train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:


*Responsible for complete and accurate quality control or quality assurance inspections in accordance with program standards and client requirements.

*Conducts standard inspections to verify that the energy efficiency measures have been installed to meet program quality standards.

* Perform diagnostic testing including blower door, combustion safety testing and Duct Blaster/ Flow.

*Document findings using program Quality Inspection Forms and specific inspection criteria for all measures installed.

*Track and enter all required program data in an accurate and timely manner.

*Stays current on latest Program initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. and proposing ideas for improvement. Develops advanced technical knowledge in energy efficiency and building science.

*Conduct in field evaluations on current inspector staff to verify consistency of program inspections.

*Conduct monthly Inspector meetings to discuss relevant program topics.

*Work closely with Quality Control Manager to resolve customer and contractor issues.

*Develops trainings to keep inspection staff up to date on latest technologies in the industry.

Qualifications:


*HS Diploma or equivalent

*Experience in leading a team to meet goals and deadlines.

*Ability to problem solve work flow issues to streamline processes.

*Experience in understanding different building components and house construction.

*BPI BA,Envelope certifications a plus

*Strong customer service and enthusiasm for energy conservation. Ability to effectively communicate technical and program concepts to contractors, consumers, and other interested people or organizations. Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

*Computer proficiency, experience with Windows-based office applications required. Familiar with DOE Home Energy Score Software a plus.

*Local or regional travel required on a daily basis. Flexibility in schedule required. May require evening and weekend scheduling.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
